The Ashcroft Foundation is the world's richest, largest and most influential corporation, having made its fortune developing and later licensing the D-engine technology to the world's governments. So powerful is the company that it helps to write and guide New Earth Government policy at the highest echelons of decision-making, and is much-criticized for it. It is sometimes difficult to see where the NEG begins and the Ashcroft Foundation ends.
